X was born in Calcutta to George Petersen _______ and Helen Maynard _______.

X was the first Indian athlete to participate in the Olympic Games. He was also the first athlete from India and first athlete representing an Asian nation to win an Olympic medal. He won two silver medals in the 1900 Summer Olympics in Paris, France. He came second in the 200 meters behind John Tewksbury of the United States and second in the 200 meters hurdles behind the legendary Alvin Kraenzlein of the United States. X set a world record in the second heat of the 100 metre hurdles which was bettered by Kraenzlein in the final. He served as Secretary of the Indian Football Association from 1900 to 1902. He moved permanently to England in 1905.

He acted alongside Hollywood legends like Ronald Colman in movies like Beau Geste (1926), Clara Bow's father in Dancing Mothers(1926) and Tonight at Twelve (1929). He also appeared in several Broadway shows.

      yup...
and quizzing is not about knowing just enough to answer a question on something...so no info is unnecessary.
Here, its given just to highlight the guy's achievements. I prefer the above question to
      "Who was India's first athlete?"

i said tht coz i think in an online open question like this...anyone can copy and google the hard and rather unedited text...i would prefer quizzicallyours blog to put in more "connect questions" or some thing that is workable with the limited data given in the question...

ya ya...get it...but first...this was a qn which came in the India quiz of Festember. second the purpose of this blog is not to test anyone, its purely for those interested in quizzing, so its purely up to you to use google/tineye, although we highly recommend ppl guessing since in that way we get know new stuff and you too develop the art of good guessing in quizzes.
